This project was inspired by an initial brief to investigate teenagers and studying. The research indicated that teenagers are being put under too much pressure to perform academically. This, in turn, led me to think that we, in Britain, need to reassess our whole value system.

What if we didnít use league tables as the defining assessment of a school? What if we didnít believe that every schoolchild should aim for the highest paid career? What if we promoted alternative lifestyles? What if dropping out of the system and choosing your own path was a good thing?

I suggest here that we display an open mind and accept that we are all different. We have different skills and abilities that are equally valuable and we are free to apply our own definitions of success.
